Special Report:
Marcel Reimer's Ami6 Break Club

I brought home the Ami 6 Break Club which I bought from my best girlfriend. The little 1968 Ami is in pretty good, but 29 years old condition, which means a lot of work has to be done to restore my friend for life in its original condition (as was in 1968). For that purpose I'm looking for some spare parts who are hard to come by. First the engine. I know the 35 bhp engine was of poor quality, but since I'm a authenticity fan, I very much would like an original engine (with the oil filter inside of the engine), preferrably completely overhauled with new pistons etc. Also all sorts of smaller parts are most welcome. I.e. the handsome whitewall wheelcovers that are so typically "Club", and new headlight frames. I believe the frames currently mounted are not the right ones. I'll send some pictures along with this mail to define the frames I'm looking for. Furthermore, some extra headlights would be nice, as well as a new (all black) steering wheel. I'm also looking for two bright red front seats (simili + cloth). Of course, when one is restoring a car, all the parts available are most welcome. I wonder what parts you Ami-lovers out there might want to sell. Well, I'm all ears to any proposal you might want to send me. Meanwhile, I wish all of you happy motoring with your little friends.

The pictures:

1. Shows the Ami 6 Break Club in 1968. Notice the wheelcovers with whitewalls (not the tyres, but on the wheels itself). I also need a new rear view mirror and a set of "baguettes chromees" on the bottom part of the doors. Also a front bumper.
2. Shows the interior of a Ami 6 Club. The pictures are taken from the Citroen sales brochure "une voiture ..." which appeared in the beginning of 1968. My car is the axact copy of the car portrayed in this brochure, including the colors (blanc carrare with red interior). The only difference is that my car has an original Continental Edison radio, placed where the ashtray used to be, complete with loudspeaker and new "swivel"-ashtray in the dashboard part just below the windscreen. I'm looking for the black spoked steering wheel, as well as several parts like dashboard, buttons, levers etc. Also door trims are very welcome and two front seats.
3. Shows the headlight frames I mentioned before. Notice the curves at the bottom side of the frame that follow the lines of the round headlights and meet in the middle. There are also two little holes at the front of the frames (probably for adjusting the lights). The frames currently mounted are flat (no curves) and have no holes in them. Furthermore, notice the orange colored indicators. Most Ami 6 models I've seen have white plastic covers. I'm desperately seeking the orange ones (must be new).

Bye bye for now.

Special Report:
Jeroen Broeklander's Ami6

Jeroen Broeklander sent me these 2 pictures. No doubt they were taken on a holiday, and I don't think the holiday was in the Netherlands. From the car's licence plate you can see that it is an original Dutch car (it was not recently imported like a lot of Ami's in the Netherlands).
