August 25, 1998. Hello Hans
! It is now 1998 and my car is still not ready. Too many projects at the
same time : moving to an old house with restoration needs, more Citroëns,
2 kids, work etc. I also bought a mahogany speedboat this summer so there
is no time to rest. Best regards. Pelle Nordström, Luleå, Sweden

August 5, 1998. Hi again Hans,
(Question by Hans: Why does it say on the picture "l'Ami d'Eva" ) Well
the story goes back to the 10th ICCCR where my daughter Eva who was twelve
at that time, said that when she gets the driving license she wants an
Ami! I'm not quite sure of the reasons - she is artistically very talented
(not only my opinion) and has seen an Ami6 earlier because my brother owns
one of the 161 Amis imported to Finland in 1962-63. At the time of my daughter's
birth my brother owned 3 Amis, one of which he sold to Mr. Nieminen who
is now restoring it for her daughter Sonja. The other which was a 1967
Ami 6 Break manufactured in Spain was brought to Finland by an old lady
who had worked in Spain. This car was badly vandalized after serving many
years in daily use. This car was sold to Mr. Elo who restored it and has
now a license plate AMI-6. Both Mr. Elo and Mr. Nieminen are 'responsible'
for getting the car to Finland - Mr. Elo and Mr. Cedercreutz had some spare
parts and an 2CV Van in France and also had found this Ami6 of which they
phoned Mr. Nieminen who in turn phoned me asking 'do you have a car for
Eva, there's an Ami6 in France but the decision should be made within two
hours because the truck is already there?' At this point I remembered what
Eva had said in Mozac (the 10th ICCCR camping site) and against my week
old decision of not buying any more Citroens for the time being said 'OK,
I'll take it!'. The comments she and her friends made when we went for
the first ride would have made Bertoni very happy. It very curious to me
to see how genuine and strong appeal the car has to these young ladies.
Their only regret is that they still have to wait three years before they
get the license. So that is the story of "l'Ami d'Eva". I put it there
to test the dark shades of the picture taken with a digital camera. You
have good eyes and a good monitor Hans! Regards, Asko Henriksson asko.henriksson@sci.fi

July 24, 1998. Hans, I was in
Tunisia a few weeks ago and saw many 3 door Ami 8 Breaks. I had never seen
these before, although I think a 3 door van was sold in the UK in the early
seventies. Do you know anything about these cars? I wondered if perhaps
they were locally built for the Tunisian market. I attach a couple of photographs.

July 15, 1998. Hello Hans,here
is some information of my Ami6: serial no. 9452154 mise en circulation
17/3/1967 couleur AC144 compteur 72700 km. And here is a photo taken when
the car arrived two days ago, customs formalities are now OK and I have
a possibility to drive the car with French plates (!) for 30 days before
taking the car technical control. But before that I'll go for a fishing&holiday
trip with my son with AK400 'multipurpose van'. Have a nice summer Hans!

July 10, 1998. I'm owner of
an AMI6 berline built in the factory of Forest (Belgium) in 1966. It was
in very bad state when I bought it in 1989 and I totally restored it until
now because I didn't had lot of leisure time to work on it but I want absolutely
finish it for the coming ICCCR in Chevetogne. However I'm still looking
after spare parts and I'll be glad to share experiences with other owners
of AMI6's. See you in Chevetogne. Laurent Moreau (Belgium) lmoreau@email.ipb.be

July 8, 1998. Hi! I actually
do not have anything om Ami6 or 8. That is the reason I am writing this
mail. I am the new and lucky owner of an Ami8, that needs some work. It
is also needed to pe painted, and I want I in an original color as it had
just come out from the factory. So I am looking for som colorcodes on Ami8.
Is this something that you know anything about or do you know any other
place? Thanks, Andreas Lorensen andreas_lorensen@softhome.net

June 25, 1998. Hello I'm the
Ami Registrar of the 2CVGB. In the UK we have very few Amis, about 50 at
last count. Most of these are Right hand drive Ami 8's. Ami owners in this
country have great problems getting spare parts for these cars. Are parts
for Amis plentiful on the continent? I like all Amis and have two Right
hand drive examples. A 1973 saloon Club with traffi clutch and a 1977 Confort
Break. How could I find out which factory made these cars? Matt Concannon,
UK Ami Registrar. M.Concannon@mia.co.uk

January 28, 1998. Hi my name
is Philippe Mortier. I have just imported an Ami6 sedan (1968.. new tail
lights, old motor) to AUSTRALIA. I plan to convert it to right hand drive
...mayby next year. I have to finish my 11 BL in the mean time. My Email
is mortiep@dep.sa.gov.au. The car is originally from the Lyon area, but
I bought it in Switzerland (Lausanne) from Benoit Remondin, another A series
fan. It's really rough and will need total restoration, however it did
travel for 6000 kms. around France last September, with my partner and
I and lots of luggage. You can't stop them. Colour; white (slightly green??)
Red (cloth) interior. A mail order source of parts would be great.

21 december 1997. Hallo Hans,
prachtige Homepage!
naald lager, dynamo, andere homo.. etc.

November 30, 1997. Hi Hans Tacq,
I am on the AMI list. As I am not jet an AMI owner, I have only a few things
to report to the list. And I think that this will not change until next
summer, where I plan my next holidays in France. Here in Germany you get
only a few offers if you search an AMI 6 or 8. Maybe there will be some
interesting cars for sale at Citromobile? Nils THEINDUCER@aol.com

November 30, 1997. My name is
Thomas, I do not have a mail address, but I'm writing this message on the
computer from my friend Mark. So I own an Ami 6. I bought the car in France
in 1990. It is an 1965 model, with 54000 km, the colour is cream white
an the interior is red, it has 24,5 hp and an automatic "embrayage" (I
don't know this word in English) . I'm really fascinated about this car.
But I think the joy of driving would be higher when it would have more
performence and when it would be not so noisy. I say thanks for your initiative
to create this Ami6-page. It is a great pleasure to read it. What do you
think, will Citroën become more creative and produce more individual
cars now with the new master Jean Martin Folz? Greetings, Thomas

November 9, 1997. Today I brought
home the Ami 6 Break Club which I bought from my best girlfriend. The little
1968 Ami is in pretty good, but 29 years old condition, which means a lot
of work has to be done to restore my friend for life in its original condition
(as was in 1968). For that purpose I'm looking for some spare parts who
are hard to come by. First the engine. I know the 35 bhp engine was of
poor quality, but since I'm a authenticity fan, I very much would like
an original engine (with the oil filter inside of the engine), preferrably
completely overhauled with new pistons etc. Also all sorts of smaller parts
are most welcome. I.e. the handsome whitewall wheelcovers that are so typically
"Club", and new headlight frames. I believe the frames currently mounted
are not the right ones. I'll send some pictures along with this mail to
define the frames I'm looking for. Furthermore, some extra headlights would
be nice, as well as a new (all black) steering wheel. I'm also looking
for two bright red front seats (simili + cloth). Of course, when one is
restoring a car, all the parts available are most welcome. I wonder what
parts you Ami-lovers out there might want to sell. Well, I'm all ears to
any proposal you might want to send me. Meanwhile, I wish all of you happy
motoring with your little friends. Bye bye for now. Marcel Reimer, Amsterdam,
The Netherlands. mreimer@worldaccess.nl .See the pictures at: Marcel

I am an AMI6 owner. My AMI6 -1965 is a Weekend model and I have owned the

24 oktober 1997. Dag Hans, ik
wil best wel op je eigenaren lijst. Ook wij zijn in Maurik geweest. Misschien
Jeroen. jeroen1@capitolonline.nl

October 19, 1997. Bonjour (hi
!). When I was living at Lille (in France) a friend give me an Ami6. It
was a red one with the top yellow. It have only 7000 km and some pieces
with. But, this car was the car of an old man who have died and the 21
people who succified of him didn't know where are the official paper. No
solution. the car was destroyed. So, I have the dream to find another Ami6.
I love it... Thanks for this page, very nice, really !!! Can you send me
the draw of the car you made ? Write me back soon………Filaplomb, France,

September 12, 1997. Hi, my name
is Dan Hughes. I've got an '63 Ami 6, in original unrestored condition.
I live in the USA, Washington State. The City of Renton. I'm sorry I won't
be able to attend the big international meeting of 2CV friends. My car
is all white, with a red interior, and some rust. I've owned the car about
7 years, and it's by far the most reliable car I've ever had. When the
wife's Honda breaks down, we all climb in the Ami. When it's deadly cold,
the Ami starts up right away. It thinks its bigger than it actually is
and doesn't take any guff from those bigger American cars. Sorry, I don't
have a digital picture of my car. Dan.

August 29, 1997. Hello! I'm
an owner of an AMI 6 weekend -1967 which I use daily to drive my children
to school. The car is called "Stinky" since one of the cylinders is badly
worn and the car there produces some bad smelling fumes. Stinky is hand
painted black whith white roof by the previous owner. Because of Stinky's
great performance in city traffic, I've temporarely garaged my two CX TRI's.
There are of course some spares that I could use, like new inertia dampers
(were to buy 'n how much R they?), Stinky also lack the original petrol
heather. I would be glad to share some experiences in how to install a
new Eberspecher or similar. I'd also like to thank you for your very nice
page! K-J Samuelsson, Stockholm, Sweden, kalle-s@algonet.se

August 5, I've been offered
a Ami 6 from 1966 with 46000 km for 1500 guilders. Is that a good deal
? If I want to repaint it what are the original Ami-colours ? I remember
there was a green blue color which I liked very much…,Thanks, Frank Vriens.

2 Juli 1997. Beste Hans, Net
Groeten Renata Honig. R.Honig@jur.kun.nl P.S. Geweldige Web Page!!!!!

March 10, 1997. Dear Friend:
Congratulations on your page! Yes, I´m a Citroën enthousiast,
and an Ami 6 owner. My car is a 1962 berline. I bought it from the original
owner two years ago, and I´m now in process of rebuilding it. It
is mostly all original, except for the seats. At this time I´m looking
to get the rear round tail lights, the "D" button for the demarreur contact,
the driver side door mirror, and the original type of cloth to redo the
seats. It is red with black shades cloth. The car color looks very much
like yours, with white roof. For now I don't have any pictures, but I will
sent in one when it is ready. I will appreciate any tips about places or
contacts to get those parts. Yes I'm plaining to go to the 12th, driving
the Ami6, or one of the last production 2CV´s I also own. Besides
those two cars, I also have a DS23 Break familiare (7 seats), a 1954 2CV
(beeing rebuild now) and a 1/2 way done 2CV convertible! Thank you very
much for your time and kindness. Sincerely, Daniel Martins, Portugal. nop48618@mail.telepac.pt

9 Maart 1997. Hallo, Ik ben
That's all folks, Groeten van
Buddy Koolhaas.

February 27, 1997. Hello! First
I want congratulate you for your site. My name is Julien and I'm student
in Luik. I own an Ami6 berline of 66 but it's a 67-model. I bought it in
last September in France (La Charité sur Loire) and it's now in
reconstruction. I have not a lot of time to spend "with" it I hope I can
ride with it in this summer and whynot going to the Nederlands meeting.
I'm a recent member of the Ami Club de France, they are very sympathic
and also active, they will be at the Reims' Salon with their typicall cars
on 8 and 9 of March. I'm keen on this car because it's an unconventionnal
car like Citroën could only build. Julien Lecomte, Florenville (South
of Belgium).

18 Februari 1997. Hoi Hans,
eens betaalbaar is.

achter elkaar, mijn complimenten. Groetjes, Rinse-Jan Bottinga.

January 22, 1997. First, I don't
practice English language very well but I will try to communicate. I'm
a 2cv owner model 1976, and I try to buy an AMI 6 model 12Volts about 1968.
My father had an AMI6 when I was young and it was for me a great memory
and it's maybe because I'm looking for this car. Your pages are very interesting
and I'm ready to give you informations possible to find in France ( Photographies,
news etc...) See you on the Web. Philippe PY, Marseille, France.

January 18, 1997. Hello ! I'm
one of the few AMI6 Berline owners in Sweden. Unfortunately I don't have
any digitalized picture of my car. My car is a belgian built 1964. I am
rebuilding the car at the moment but I don´t have much time so I
don't think it will be ready before 1998. I will try to go to the 2CV friends
meeting -97 anyway. Thank you for the nice homepage !! By the way - Do
you know if a new rubberlist around the front wind-shield is available
at the market. There is a white decorstrip in it that has turned all yellow.

January 16, 1997. Howdy, I just
found your page and if you've been following the 2cv-list you already know
that I am the owner of a `66 AMI6 break/wagon which is undergoing a drivetrain
transplant as I type (well at this time anyways<g>) It will have its
tired, knocking, M4 replaced with a supposedly fresh AM2-M28 and a new
tranny with the easier drums and halfshafts. (the old tranny was shot anyways)
I do not have pictures available of this only running-driving AMI6 in Texas
yet but Blair promised to make a page out of the engine transplant as there
may be some available soon. Happy Trails bRad, Texas, USA. BPutchat@aol.com

January 13, 1997. Hans, Thank
you for your AMI6 web page. It's great! I have a 1963 Ami6 Berline. Keep
up the good work! Larry Dwyer San Francisco, California, USA, lad-ds21@dnai.com

Do you have
anything special about the AMI6, please let me know,

by direct e-mail in stead of those sophisticated guestbooks...
